BREAKING NEWS... Acclaimed director Clement Virgo in attendance for rare screening of Rude.

Groundbreaking Canadian director Clement Virgo to attend AGH World Film Festival screening of Rude, his acclaimed first feature film.
Canadian director Clement Virgo, along with the film’s producer Damon D’Oliveira, will attend a 35 mm screening of Rude on Monday, September 27th at 7:00 pm at Westdale Theatre located at 1014 King Street West in west Hamilton. Both Virgo and D’Oliveira will answer questions from the audience after the screening.

While a resident at the Canadian Film Centre, Virgo’s script was chosen for development under the newly formed The Feature Film Project, launching Rude as its first film and Virgo’s stellar debut feature. The 1995 theatrical release of Rude marked a significant milestone in Canadian cinematic history as the first full-length dramatic feature to be written, directed and produced by an all-black team. The film was screened at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.

The film follows three urban stories simultaneously, woven together by the central character, Rude, a deejay at a pirate radio station.

This screening of Rude brings the AGH World Film Festival feature film count to 37!
