Le Centre français Hamilton inc. - Festival Programming

In 2011, le Festival du film francophone will become a part of the AGH CIBC Wood Gundy World Film Festival and co-presented by le Centre français Hamilton inc and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. As part of this block of programming, le Centre français Hamilton inc is hosting a short film contest for youth: Tapis Rouge.

TAPIS ROUGE 2011
Short film competition for 14-18 and 19-24 age groups featuring the theme: Where are you from, Stranger?
The Centre français Hamilton inc. invites you to participate in the Festival du film francophone’s short film competition that will be held during the AGH CIBC Wood Gundy World Film Festival in partnership with the Centre français Hamilton inc. The Festival dates are September 23 - October 2nd 2011 in Hamilton.

The Centre français Hamilton inc. welcomes francophones and francophiles who would like to present a short film in French or a silent film, based on the theme: “Inconnu(e), d’où viens-tu?” (Where are you from, Stranger?) Documentary or fiction, thriller, romance or comedy, animation or silent film, the film must be from 3 to 7 minutes maximum. Use your imagination, the possibilities are endless: a story of a meeting, the daily reality of an inhabitant of a faraway country, a voyage in time, the mystery of a letter received 50 years after it was posted... The choice belongs to the young creators.
Objectives
Tapis Rouge is an opportunity for young filmmakers to demonstrate their creative talents, to express their views on current issues, to let their imagination run wild, to enhance their French skills and use the French language in the context of a visual art. It’s also an opportunity to work in a group if desired and discover the advantages and challenges of that experience.
